About
A family business — not a national chain.
We've been fitting stairlifts in Salford and across Greater Manchester for over 10 years. Same team, same vans, same phone number — answered by a real person.
Why local matters
National chains pay commission per sale, which is why they're typically 30–50% more expensive than independents. We don't pay commission, we don't run TV adverts, and our overheads are low because we work from one Salford yard. Those savings go to you.
Every quote is given by a surveyor who's not on commission. Every install is done by our own engineers — not a subcontractor you'll never meet again. If something goes wrong at 9pm, the number you'll call is the same one we answered the first time.
How we work — and what a fair stairlift sale looks like
Reputable UK stairlift companies follow a code of practice that goes beyond basic consumer law: fair selling, clear written paperwork, protected deposits, and an independent complaints route if something goes wrong. The code is designed to stop the high-pressure tactics that give the wider industry a bad name — "today only" prices, vague quotes, scare-selling to vulnerable customers, or refusing to leave a written quote behind.
Every stairlift we fit is built to BS EN 81-40, the British and European safety standard for stair-lifting platforms for people with impaired mobility. It covers seat and footrest cut-outs, safety edges, load testing, swivel locks and emergency stop. The same standard applies whether the seat unit is brand new or one of our reconditioned models — both go on a brand-new rail cut to your stairs.
Our surveyors are salaried, not on commission. That single change in how we pay people removes the incentive to oversell. You'll get a clear written quote, a 14-day cooling-off period on signed orders, and a real recommendation — sometimes "you don't need a stairlift yet" or "a reconditioned straight model would suit you better than the new lift you asked about." Most of our work comes from word of mouth across Salford, so an unhappy customer is the last thing we can afford.
If you're comparing us against a larger national chain, our side-by-side comparison shows where the differences actually land — price, install timing, who answers the phone after hours, and how the aftercare works. Or read about our free home survey process before you book.
