A used stairlift is the cheapest route onto a stairlift and is genuinely the right answer for some situations: short-term recovery after hip or knee surgery, a relative moving in temporarily, or bridging the gap while you wait for a Disabled Facilities Grant decision. Every used lift we sell is safety-checked against BS EN 81-40, fitted with new batteries, and installed by the same engineers who fit our new and reconditioned lifts — so it's safe, it's compliant, and it's covered by a 6-month warranty.
What you don't get is the full strip-down rebuild that goes into a reconditioned straight lift. Cosmetic wear remains, expected life is shorter (typically 3–5 years), and the warranty is half the length. For a long-term install in your forever home, reconditioned is almost always better value once you factor in lifespan. The reconditioned vs new comparison covers the maths.
We'll buy your used lift back against an upgrade later, and we include free removal and recycling at end of use. If renting feels like a better fit, read our rental vs buying breakdown.
